In Veeam Backup & Replication version 12 and later, the default database system is PostgreSQL, replacing the previously used Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition. This change enables users to leverage the PostgreSQL database as part of the default installation. Veeam supports PostgreSQL from version 14 and above. 12.1 release notes still only show 15.x as supported. Also, Veeam Backup & Replication does not support PostgreSQL installations on cloud database services (for example, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS). Good day, I have 3 SQL server that I backup in the evening a full backups runs and then the transactional log backups are set to every 60 minutes. My full backups complete and the transactional backups complete except for 1 database. The database is set to the full model but I keep getting the below error and that the database is unprotected. โFailed to upload SQL Server transaction log backup for **** to ISA-SS-VEEAMSSP-01: Repository agent is stopped. SQL Server transaction log backup took longer than desired log backup interval.โ I have played around with the time and have set it to 200 minutes but itโs the same. The database is over 300GB big but I do have other DBโs bigger and the transactional log backup completes on them. I have checked the event logs for more information and have checked the guest helper log but donโt see anything. This is not an account permission issue as the backups for the other DBโs complete. Is there anything else I can look at or try to get this resolved
Veeam Backup Service is a Windows service that coordinates all operations performed by Veeam Backup & Replication such as backup, replication, recovery verification and restore tasks. After creating a snapshot of the VM because of different tests I wish to perform. I proceeded to launch the VBR console and was met with the error โError 1069: Windows could not start the Veeam backup service on local computerโ. The Veeam Backup Service runs under the LocalSystem account or account that has local Administrator permissions on the backup server. Reason for this Error 1069: Windows could not start To be honest, there are a few reasons for this error! Recently, I had the privilege to attend a three-day Veeam Availability Suite: Configuration and Management (VMCE) course provided by Veeam from on the 7th - 9th December, 2022. Since we can Install Windows Subsystem Linux , i decided why not just use WSL to achieve the same. Hey all Though i would share this as a Post. Wanted to see if from powershell i could get a list of Veeam infrastructure components and then use NMAP with a script to look for known Vulnerabilities ( CVEs ) on the ports & Os of these components , in a move to further secure the environment with a basic report. Though i would share this : There are a few ways to install packages on Linux , most commonly is pulling packages using a package manager like Yum or Apt to find the relevant on a connected repository. Linux repositories can be online through the internet or cloned/created offline on your network. Hey All Thought i would re post a recent post of mine here, detailing how to add multiple VBR servers to enterprise manager using powershell and API Scenario is: multiple Veeam Backup Servers managing individual remote sites or Geo-located DCs. To get a centralized view of each site its then advisable to add these Veeam Backup Servers to Veeam Enterprise Manager. Too do so you would need to follow a wizard for each Veeam Backup Server , when you have anything over 15-30 sites this can be a cumbersome task. My logic to do this was : I needed Powershell to import a list of server names and IPs and then call an API command against Enterprise Manager for each server in the list. So i created a CSV file with 2 columns ; Server Name ; IP ; you could just have a single column if you have perfect name resolution in your network. I populated the CSV file with Hostnames & IPs so that i could use either in the script & saved this to the root of the C Drive / Volume on the Veeam Enterprise Manager
