Congrats Chris! Quite a Milestone 4 years!!
I just realized that the Calico Certificate is a cat and the Legend one is a Lion, my cat here at home is thrilled :)
This is exactly the type of thing that is needed to help the huge number of Newbies out there. If not a secret what CNI (Container Network Interface, i.e. for the pod networking) did you end up using? Great Job Michael! In my walkthrough I am using “L2 networks and linux bridging” but I have also looked into “weave” and “Flannel” Would love to read some more on this though outside of the official K8 documentation about CNI, if you have some knowledge would love to hear it. I have been using Calico. They have free training and a free certification as well which is no walk in the park as I happily waffled my first attempt at their exam :). It gets pretty advanced so good to have some knowledge of network policies if you really want to leverage all of its capabilities. If you are using kubeadm to build your cluster and intend to use calico then use this pod cidr in the command which is what it expects by default kubead
@Kseniya this is great news!
Just saw this. I folks. I have the pleasure of working with Chris the Vanguard in charge!! :) I am a Senior Backup Engineer and have been working in IT for 21 years. I have worked with Veeam since version 7. I am VMCA, VMCE and Kubernetes certified.
Hi Folks, I deployed a Docker Swarm cluster for a distributed setup of Minio about a year and a half ago. At the time Kubernetes was too steep of mountain to climb up for that task. Since then I have been building step by step. This past summer was a highlight when I passed the CKA 3 hour practical exam. Now they have reduced it to 2 hours but it was a tough cookie to crack and imagine it still is. At this point I am studying for the new CKS (Kubernetes Security Specialist) Certification. Kubernetes I don’t find simple but I find it a lot of fun. Reminds me of the days when trying to get my dial up modem to work with linux and playing with ATP commands and dial up scripts, complicated but when it finally works you find yourself jumping around gleefully. You just don’t get the same satisfaction from plug and play :) .

From working with Chris I know that this will be an excellent book. He not only has deep theoretical knowledge about Veeam but also plenty of real life experience from the backup and restore trenches!! You can expect to get the read deal about what works and what works even better :)
Thanks Rasmus, I would have missed this I did MCSE back on Windows NT as my first… :)
