December Chocolatey Month: Leaderboard 05/12

Great! Let me suggest a new scoring format 😁  I habe taken just two questions. If the score couöd be kn this form 2/2 etc  The score is build out of points, not the number of correct questions. Participating in a question gives you a point, and 1 point per additional correct answer. This has been described in the rules:

If you have waited quite some time, you could just stop the VM, restore an E1000 adapter.If the machine boots up correctly, I would suggest to install VMware tools, then try switching the NICs.

Yes, C is the most flexible way to suit the installation requirements. @mkevenaar, would it be possible to set the question in a polling style ?  Unfortunately not, no one can see who voted what, so no way to track score's

Images - for the blind people

Seriously…I’m catching up on posts and two posts ago I noticed you’re ALT text for the Mandalorian meme and realized this is a regular thing you do as was going to mention it, but I feel like I sometimes get threads off-topic, so thanks for creating a new topic for this! You are very welcome. I really hope this helps us all!

Images - for the blind people

@mkevenaar is dishing out best practices for free. If you are a blogger, the ALT text/caption will greatly help your SEO journey. There are plugins to automate this. Most times, we do not use descriptive names and yet it helps us a lot. Note: Using descriptive names for images is time consuming tho…  The filename is a nice to have. But the ALT text is more important. But some people use the filename and size as the ALT text, and that’s not helpful You are right! I automate this ALT TXT process with a plugin. It takes whatever i have in my file name But the filename probably does not explain in detail what your image is about, right? If you look at the example screenshot I posted in my first post, you’ll see that I tried to describe the image in detail.

Maybe this can be in a poll format.  What if we DM you @mkevenaar directly and post on here after. What are your thoughts @mkevenaar ? DMs are great for conversations, but submitting your answers will be a pain. Because if someone sends only A, how do I know what question it belongs to? That would be a lot more administrative work and will create issues for sure

VMware Tools for Windows update addresses a denial-of-service vulnerability

Thank you for posting this, I'll update those in a next maintenance window.   Fun fact, easiest way on Windows is with Chocolatey, no need to change anything on your host to include the vmware tools ISO, just install / upgrade the vmware-tools package. choco install vmware-tools choco upgrade vmware-tools This is how I do it in my HomeLab. 😁   Screenshot from The Mandalorian (Lucasfilm Ltd.
