We have just has a Veeam Malware Detection on a Cisco FMC VMWare VM backup. It’s a Ransomware Note detection. I am thinking the Cisco FMC could legitimately have this in a signature file for AMP, and so it’s a false positive - does anyone agree, please? It would be hard to agree or disagree as you will need to investigate the logs to see what was detected and then if a false positive mark it as clean.
This is a great initiative for sure as I saw this on my phone and clicked on it to see lots of VeeamON goodness. Looking forward to seeing the updates and news here.

It seems like I'm encountering difficulties starting my initial backup process with VEEAM Backup & Replication 11 Community Edition. Despite setting up the software on my Windows 11 machine, including cache allocation on the D:\ drive, the backup for my Windows 10 laptop to Chris-Garage isn't progressing as intended. Now, I'm troubleshooting to locate the specific error within the build logs. Again why are you using v11 when v12 is out? Upgrade to v12 and the agent to the latest release to see if that helps.
Glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue with a clean install of v12. Be sure to mark the best answer for your question that helped you solve your issue - the one that helped the most.
Thank you for the suggestions guys, Will try adding te IP to the Host file of the veeam server Will also try removing and re-adding the server to the Veeam application . Will let you guys know the outcome of this steps . Hopefully one of these works and you will not be required to contact Support. Best of luck.

It could be a compatibility issue so check the supporting OSes for v11.
It is nice to see this but why post something that is available on the Veeam help pages to make a post? Yes, it is actually true, but many people do not like research. @Chris.Childerhose no, I only removed it from the the domain. Did not want to remove it from the Veeam server itself so all backups do not start afresh. Might try that later though. But you need to remove it as it will still be associated to the domain possibly causing the issue you are seeing. Let us know if that works once you do.
Did you remove the server from Veeam prior to removing it from the domain? If it is still there try removing it from Veeam then adding again. I think there is something leftover in the DB that might cause issues. You more than likely should open a support case.
Yes great catch on that one Jim as I forgot to mention private fixes and potential issues that may arise from this patch. Be sure to reach out to Support prior to updating.
I could not agree more with these sentiments from Jim when it comes to the challenges that VCSPs face. I have run in to many and hopefully through this group we can share tips, tricks, problems, solutions, etc. with each other to help learn and grow our skillsets.Going to be a wild ride in 2024 so hang on tight. 😂
There seems to be something else going on then have you installed the latest AHV plug-in and meet the minimum requirements? links to doc below. Please share screen shots. It might be good to a trouble ticket started. I can say with relative certainty we are running the latest plugin, AHV appliance version, and system requirements are more than met. Definitely would suggest a Support ticket at this point then so you can get this worked out.
I checked drive health, but nothing stood out to me, unless anyone else sees something that shows its the drive? The temp seems awfully high on that drive at 50C. Is there sufficient cooling as I am wondering if the drive is getting how when backups kick off causing the latency? Just a guess mind you.
These are the only settings on the agent, I have the free windows version. I don’t have CBT either, is that available for the free version? No you actually need a licensed version for that - Workstation or Server. I would check what Michael mentioned as well.

What settings do you have enabled in the Agent - VSS, etc.? Also which license version do you have Free, Workstation, Server? You should also ensure the CBT driver is installed on your system.I have a laptop with the agent and 2 NVME drives but never notice this when backups run.
It sounds like you’ve done your due diligence. Since you’re not really wanting to go the Support route as of yet, you could potentially post this question on the Forums to see if the Product Managers have come across this behavior. They can have the QA team test it out and see if there is indeed a bug. Yeah I figured community was better because in my experience the R&D folks want an existing support case (which is reasonable, I suspect so they have a better chance at logs and such) before looking into it too much. For something like this, thought I’d try out the community route. The community is good but we can only give so much advice and eventually it will require technical help. As we say to many we are not technical support just Veeam enthusiasts. 😁

Based on what you are using the Windows 10 machines should be supported. Check this page which shows the compatible versions using Agent version 6 - System Requirements - Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows Guide
This was an easy one as we implemented Four-Eyes and then my colleague tried to turn it off so I saw the notice and declined it. 😋😂 So via Experience! One thing we always suggest to exam-takers isn’t it?...get acquainted directly with the features by lab’ing/testing :) You cannot beat hands on with Veeam and it is a must for VMCE especially but also VMCA too in some way.
When Veeam first introduced this we had Hitachi HCP and I did some tests but that ended up being a disaster as it was not truly compatible. Since then we have implemented things like Cloudian, ECS, and HCPCS which is compatible. I also test Wasabi with our generous accounts we get to use through Drew and also will be testing OOTBI once I get it to our datacenter which is the one I am most interested in.Scality Artesca also uses the SOSAPI as well which I put in the lab for giggles. Our path as an MSP is moving more towards Object Storage as we need a way to better manage capacity where traditional block is becoming more a nightmare for us and object will be easier to scale for customers.I am going to continue with Object moving forward and I am sure one day it will be the defacto standard.
Based on their existing setup they could implement WAN Accelerators in High Bandwidth mode in order to make the transfers quicker for recovery. There is also the option to implement CDP as well so if this was a question on the exam hopefully one of these would be marked as partial answer. 🤣
