VeeamON 2024 - Use Code "COMMUNITY10" for 10% Off!
Well guys currently the answer is to use the agents on hypervisors other than VMware, Hyper-V or Nutanix.
Nice one vChris - this is a great share.
Thank you @JMeixner !
Outstanding responses @MicoolPaul - thank you!
Hi there Chill - I have not, but did you reference this Veeam KB? KB2891: How to prepare Azure Data Box for seeding with Veeam Backup & Replication
Nice one @MicoolPaul
Great content as always! Must be getting more difficult to choose every week! I just love it that we can break the rules every week - with a big one coming next week!
Nice one MP
Nice one vnote!
Nice one @Mildur will do!
Fair shout @JMeixner so I’ll just add all Sysinternals, I like Zoomit the most LOLSysinternals Utilities - Windows Sysinternals | Microsoft Docs
Great posts by @vmiss33 @vNote42 @Geoff Burke and @poulpreben !
I still need a replacement for Remote Desktop Connection Manager! I didn’t realize it was discontinued until I went to go add it to this list.
Also note that if you were to download the .ISO today - the patch is built in to it.
Nice one, @Geoff Burke . I’m going to jump into Kubernetes after VeeamON - this and other resources from you and Cade will help me greatly!
Cheers, @TdSN!
So one more on this RE: PowerShell - on my system post-upgrade, did you try this @JMeixner @MicoolPaul @vNote42 Launch some PowerShell SoupOnce, I do that, I’m taken to the happy place:
I’m told PowerShell module is in all editions, this isn’t my area of expertise. But the snap-in may need to be added @JMeixner @MicoolPaul
Cheers @regnor - it is in the Agent Management User Guide. The User Guides are written for each major release, so for V11, this indicates that:Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 4.0 and Veeam Agent for Linux 4.0 and later work with Veeam Backup & Replication 11 as well. For v10 - we’d need to reference the Agent Management User Guide for v10, which does include the v3 Agents. Keep in mind also the individual support policies: KB1530: End of Support Details for Veeam Products
I want to draw attention to the Post-Publish Updates section where today (1-March) I highlight the Agents version requirement. I’ll be first to admit that the Agents just work! But the ‘drag’ is N-1, so if V11 B&R is used, and agents are now GA at v5, then v4 and v5 are supported under management by B&R V11. Meaning, v3 agents will need to upgrade.
Thank you for this, @MicoolPaul - I will get to the bottom of this, and add update in the Post-Publish Updates section.
Nice one CadeZilla
Thanks all for the thanks. LOLIf there is anything else you feel we should add in this type of resource, let me know. I want to keep it crisp and a nice starting spot for upgrades.
Thanks, @MicoolPaul - he caught my link misfire, corrected!
Thanks everyone, just FYI that I updated the post to include 2 things:Videos now embedded (Thank you @Kseniya ) I put links into the specific Help Center upgrade guides: Help Center Upgrade Guide (vSphere). Help Center Upgrade Guide (Hyper-V).
