@Inder ...as a matter of fact, they have a free trial:https://www.kasten.io/try-kasten-k10
Well, except for renewing VMCE, I’m done for the rest of yr. Good luck with all the next ones you have!
Nice! Good luck @vNote42 !! I thought the course was just ‘ok’. But the VMCA course I thoroughly enjoyed.
Last year, between Jan and May, I took 6 total certs - Veeam, AWS x 2, Azure x2, and VMware. That sucked. The only reward I get for mine is my own satisfaction that I passed 🤷♂️
Generally speaking, with all the tech that’s out there, if we wanna stay relevant, I think we can all agree all the tech certs are a bear to keep up to speed on.
Officially, the cert you achieve doesn’t expire. But, the validity of it as far as Veeam is concerned with course & exam requirements does obviously.
haha..yes, it was. Some good points were made though.
Yeah..some think even 2yr is too soon. I for one do not. Software changes so much in that timeframe, I see the need to at least renew every 2yrs. I don’t have the problem all you partner folks have. Yearly I can do, but I don’t like it, and think it’s too often to renew.Cheers bud.
Yes @Nico Losschaert ..that is correct. To this point, yes, a yearly exam is required. And yes, we all for the most part think it’s too much. Rasmus is aware and is sharing concerns with the program lead (Simon Yarwood).
Yes...it did. I didn’t pick it up until midway through the 2nd question
Thanks for all who was able to join. Was a great discussion!
It does, but at least we have several mos :)
@regnor ...no; according to Rasmus it’s only required for Veeam trainers. That being said, if you don’t hold at least the previous yr exam, you must re-sit the (new) VMCE course.Cheers!
Nice write-up @Nico Losschaert . Good job!Cheers!
Will hopefully get it done before Winter. Gonna take a lil break over the summer/early Fall (with probably a lil studying). Great news though!Cheers!
The fact Veeam has cloud-functionality is superb! My org does not use it (yet), but Veeam offers several options for customers to utilize - Veeam w/AWS or Azure functionality; b/u to Cloud with/out immutability; ability to move data to/from/between Cloud solutions. Good stuff! :)Cheers!
Time to re-learn as it’s been almost 2yrs since I went through a Pluralsight course. So much I’m sure has changed!
Glad it worked for you @Mal !!! :)Cheers!
Don’t forget to look at VeeamONE. Seriously. Hope my Guide helps you bud.
Good luck with the studies and with your exams Chris!
Nice! Thanks for sharing @mrmccoy007 . For all others who may be unaware, Veeam has a great Best Practice Guide you can reference as a compliment to the User Guides (always start with User Guides, then follow-up with the BP Guide). Check out the BP Guide here.Cheers!
Nice post @vNote42 !Cheers!
There wasn't really any "oooo-ahhhs" for me personally. CDP is a huge deal, but I don't use it. Immutable storage in linux repos is also big, but not using those myself either. Can't really think of anything else other than the fact the conf will be "live" next year in Vegas 😊Cheers!
Easy to set up. Instant Recovery is probably the most substantial feature Veeam implemented to date; close 2nd is storage integration. Though I don’t use it, b/u to Cloud is a pretty big deal to cover the ‘offsite’ piece of the “3-2-1-1-0” Rule. (yes, there are other ways, but that is for sure the future main way it’ll be done). Those are the main points for me @anilspp .Cheers!
Oh gosh! 😂
