Slow Backup Speed

That’s normal. My jobs do the same. Backup Speed isn’t a constant metric throughout your jobs.Only other option I can suggest Fellipe is to contact Support. Another option I guess is to ping the Product Managers in the Forums. Maybe they can offer other reasons I’m not able to think of why you see a drop in Read speed.

Do you notice anything in your Backup Job history?Your VM Proxy seems to be fine, although having more than 1 may give you a bit better performance, as well as redundancy. Hi @FellipeCM -Backups slowing down to that speed isn’t entirely abnormal. That being said, do you have storage latency throttling configured for your environment? https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/io_settings.html?ver=120Generally, you’d want to keep latency lower than 15-20ms on your production datastore, or your applications (VMs) will begin to show latency.

Veeam Backup for Windows recovery what am i doing wrong

Hi @Midnight2ss - I think a similar issue occurs when attempting to restore Win Server 2022 and creating your restore media on 2022; to resolve, you need to create restore media on a lesser version like 2019 (for now). Do you have a Win 10 system you can create your restore media on, then reattempt to do your test restore of your Win11 system?I also wonder if the issue is EFI-related to the VM. In VMware I have issues with EFI-created VMs (sorry..can’t recall the error I got as it was a few mos back). Can you restore to a ‘legacy BIOS’ based VM? I also like the idea @Stabz suggested to at least try a file and/or Volume-level restore to see if even those will work.Let us know.

Migration of many VMware VMs

@jdc29083 - wasn’t aware of the network mapping shortfall of Quick Migration there. May be worth posting a feature request in the Forum. Maybe the feature is in the works and a PM can share (maybe) how soon.Like Chris, I haven’t used CDP really, so wasn’t aware of the lack of mapping capability. Also worth sharing as a feature request in the Forum so a PM can chime in on it.

@coolsport00 Thank you for the lengthy reply, honestly..really. Looks like SOBR with Copy mode is something I might be interested in. I just need to pay attention to the "window" of alloted times Veeam will be able to copy backup data from Performance to Capacity tier. This should give me a 1:1 copy of the data in Performance tier in my Capacity tier if I'm understanding it correctly. I just need to find something to test said Performance/Capacity tiers with in my test environment and go from there. Or, I can as @MicoolPaul stated just apply the KISS method and use the native Veeam Backup Copy Job to another repo and that should also give me what I'm looking for. No problem.Yep, a Copy Job would also work. Many options available 😊

Hi @jaceg23 -I was not able to provide more context to my last comment and wanted to do so to hopefully clarify some of the options you have, even moreso specifically to SOBR Copy/Move to Capacity Tier. We recently had a webinar on this topic in the VMCE Study Hall a little over a week ago. It was a good discussion because those modes can be a little confusing.There are some limitations and/or requirements to Move mode (not so much with Copy mode) you need to be aware of so you know exactly where your Backup Files are located when you use SOBRs. When you initially backup, they will obviously be on your Performance Tier; and if you select the Copy mode when you add a Capacity Tier, Veeam will immediately copy your backups to Capacity Tier once the backup job completes. So you’d then have 1 copy on Performance Tier and 1 copy on Capacity Tier. Pretty simple. The only item to be aware of when setting Copy mode up is the “Window” link at the bottom of the ‘Add Capacity Tier’ SOBR wizard. T
