I am not the container/Kubernetes guy - working on it - but it looks like, Veeam made the right decision to acquire Kasten for Kubernetes Data Protection! It is named as one of the 3 leaders in this area. Looking forward to put hands on.

Because it fits the topic: Read this HPE post about Kubernetes Backup and Recovery with HPE and Kasten by Veeam

Just found this link about Deploy & Configure Kasten K10 and a Quick Backup & Restore Demo on ⎈ Kubernetes / ⎈ Tanzu or ⎈ Openshift on vSphere CNI !

thank you @vNote42 for the link, it’s really interesting. I’m waiting to play with kasten, it’s on roadmap but not schedule for the moment :(

I don’t know if all of you are familiar with kubernetes and container. My knowledge ist not at the deepest level at this moment…

VMWare offers a completely free kubernetes training:

Tanzu is very new, thank you for the link @JMeixner . I have to test this to have my own pov.

I’m more aware with Nomade and Openshift. Redhat is working on k8s things since 2015 and probablu more. I think Vmware is trying to catch up on k8s things. Like redhat is working to avoid vmware infrastructure with the ability to have hci with ceph and launch VM since 4.5

You can try Openshift like with minishift:

If you have access to a lab, you can run an openshfit origin too:

Hi,
it is not Tanzu related - at least not only Tazu related.

VMWare claims it is a “free, product-agnostic Kubernetes and cloud native technology education program”.

 OK, we will see if this is true or not...
