Hi Team,

We need to change the location and IP address of the Veeam hardened repository (LHR) server. Could anyone please help us with the steps to perform this activity?

Also, please let us know if there are any limitations for this activity. If anyone has any related articles or documentation, kindly share them with us.

Hi @Venkata Sai Kumar!

What kind of Hardened Repository are you using?

Is it based on the Hardened Repository ISO, and if so which version?

And is the Repository connected to Veeam via IP oder hostname?

Venkata Sai Kumar

Yes, Hardened Repository connected to Veeam via IP address.

Hi @Venkata Sai Kumar

If the repository is added by IP, you cannot simply edit it in the UI. Steps:

  1. Change the IP on the Linux server and confirm connectivity.
  2. In Veeam, update the managed server using PowerShell (see KB1905) or remove and re-add the server with the new IP.
  3. Rescan the repository and use Map Backup to link existing backups.
  4. Test jobs after changes.

Limitations:

  • No direct IP edit in UI.
  • If part of SOBR, set to maintenance mode first.
  • Immutability remains intact if the XFS volume is unchanged.
