Hi there Community! As Shane is on vacation (enjoy it!), he asked me to post this weeks VTT question. So let’s go.

I think d. Virtual Appliance because a. it’s used for backup if are configured.

Good day. See the answer of this weeks question below. Thanks Shane for providing us with this one.

 

 

C. is only a "distractor"

B. Network would work, but isn't the fastest and would only be used if there was something faulty with the VM Proxies.

This leaves A. and D.

A. wouldn't be used because the Proxies are VMs. There are a couple pieces missing for A. to be a viable solution as well → the question doesn't say if those VMs are FC-connected to storage for Direct Access, and second, it doesn't say if the VMs to be restored are thick-disks, which is the only disk option available for Direct Access restorations. Thin disks aren't supported.

 

Thus making D. Virtual Appliance the most correct answer. 😊

In my opinion, the type of disk used (tick or thin) could be included in the question, for tick, it would be DAS mode and for thin it would be virtual appliance mode, so I would answer A, since the default disk when creating a VM is tick.
