Hi all,

we have a customer with an Openshift Cluster and a Netapp storage for volumes.

The goal is to use a Veeam Hardened Repository for volume export, but the storage class is using a “ontap-nas” backend, and the block mode is not supported.

Do I have to use a new storage class with “ontap-san” backend and reconfigure all applications or is there another way?

Thank you

Marco S.

Hi @marco_s,

In essential package of netapp is S3.

So s3 you can use as immutable. Currently not officially suppoerted, because is waiting for offcial certification by Veeam (should be soon), but there is way how to enable it even now.

Hi @Marcel.K , not sure to understood your reply.

In my case the problem is the storage class that not allows the export, not the Veaam Repository type.

hi @marco_s, my suggestion was to go with S3, rather than with volume export

did you try to deploy new PersistentVolumeClaims (PVCs)?

@marco_s I think your storageclass has to be block mode to export to a regular Veeam repository. At least up until not long ago that was the case. If S3 then you have to use a standard Kopia Kasten repository as direct to S3 Veeam repository is not supported.

Just in case check the docs though. Every time I look I see something new.
