Hello,
I am looking to recover some files of interest that were backed up to tape over a year ago. The files were on a Hyper V VM running windows server. The files were part of a backup job that was run on VEEAM at that time. I obtained the tapes and imported the entire tape job to our backup server, which is a 5 tape media set around 50 TB. When I attempt to "Restore guest files" from the imported tape, I get an error message that some of the files are missing and then get the following errors, indicating that "Mount wasn't found". Of note, the previous backup/tape job was on a different domain that has been since decommissioned, so we are now running our backups under a new domain controller. Would the old domain be the mount it is looking for? I'm wondering if it is unable to mount because it is trying to do so on the old domain (which doesn't exist)? Of note, I utilized the same process in the past to recover files on tape with no issue, but that was on the previous domain. I apologize as I don't have formal or extensive VEEAM training/use and I am not an IT professional, but unfortunately I have been dealt the card to deal with our backup system on a computer forensics server. Any advice?
