anybody know is it possible converted physical server to virtual VM using Veeam just like veritas backup exce.
I am going to physical to virtual migration using vmware conversion tool. But when I converted my Linux server it showing booting error.
if you have any other good solutions please suggest.

Yes, it‘s possible and supported.
You can try Instant VM Recovery with the Agent Backup:

Windows works most of the time. Never had any issue.
Linux should work too, but because this os is very complicated in terms of kernel and other modification, a P2V scenario needs more than only converting the vm.
You should analyze the error message and try to find a solution from there. Could be that another kernel or driver is needed.

As noted here by Mildur and you can do recovery to Hyper-V as well with Veeam.

+10Yeah try the Veeam Agent for Linux. I have done it with Windows many times and have taken Linux from Hyper-V to VMware with it.

This is definitely the best solution. You’ll need to install VMware Tools afterwards though!

I have never thought about this solution, I have always used the vmware tool. Great to have an extra cartridge!
