We have migrated our Veeam server to a new VM but old VM keeps active, and the job is running on that VM. What is the process to decommission the old backup server? because all jobs are disabled but SOBR is still running. Should I just uninstall Veeam software if new VM is running all jobs?
Decommission old veeam server

Hi
So, all your Jobs from the old server are no longer running on it, correct? And, you have all Jobs, Proxies, Repos, and other Veeam components running successfully on the new server?
If that is the case, and you have all Veeam services disabled on the old, you can safely remove/uninstall everything on the old and delete. If you have a SOBR running on the old and is only “connected” to Jobs on the old VBR server, and you want to keep those old backups for a time, you can just power off your old server and it would be like having an “offline” copy of your backups to recover to if needed. Obviously, you can only use those for a certain time, depending on your RPOs for such a situation (malware/ransomware attack).
Hope that helps. Let us know if more info if needed.
Best.
