Veeam Cookbook is here!!!

Hi all!!! I’m here to let you know that the Veeam Cookbook is here and available for all of you in https://veeamcookbook.com/. This cookbook is a collection of recipes to accomplish one task each, the idea is based on a recipe that you read for instructions not for explanations.This book is intended for many people: New to Veeam and just want a simple next, next, next, approach, not to learn about Veeam but how to do something. People who already know Veeam well but sometimes we only do tasks once on an odd occasion, we know the technology just cannot remeber the how! People who just want a quick refresh These recipes for now are based in Veeam Backup & Replication operations Version 11. The cookbook is the creation of the EMEA Veeam Solutions Architects, and we’d really appreciate your feedback for future releases. More to come soon!!!

Therefore, as with any other approach, when using microservices with Kubernetes it is key to have a proper Data Protection strategy, including a proper Disaster Recovery Plan.This whitepaper provides some recommendations and best practices to create a Disaster Recovery Strategy for a Kubernetes infrastructure, and all the applications running on it, by using Kasten by Veeam. These recommendations include the use of automation tools, which make i–t easier to design of the Kubernetes Disaster Recovery strategy in a DevOps context.

Kasten Air-Gapped installation with AWS Elastic Container Private Registry

A very common requests to deploy Kasten in production Kubernetes environments, is the use of a Private Registry and deploying Kasten in AirGap mode. New Blog Post: Enabling Kasten K10 Multi-Cluster Manager

If we have multiple Kubernetes clusters, it means that in each of them I have to deploy and configure Kasten K10. The question then is, can I centrally manage all these instances of Kasten? Well , the answer is YES , and this is achieved by enabling Kasten's Multi-Cluster Manager mode, which is what we will discuss next.K10 multi-cluster manager mode simplifies Kasten K10 operations across multiple Kubernetes clusters, through a centralized management console. This is achieved by defining a primary-secondary relationship between the Kasten instances. The Primary instance provides the single point of management and dashboard access to manage both the primary instance and all secondary instances.Read more in the next link: https://patriciocerda.com/?p=1416

This projects demostrates the process of recovering a Kasten K10 instance and all the protected Kubernetes workloads (applications) after a disaster ocurrs on Kubernetes cluster.All the automation is done using Ansible playbooks, ArgoCD, and leveraging the Kasten K10 API. Configuring Chrony NTP service in OpenShift 4.x

When we deploy OpenShift Container Platform, the Chrony service is also deployed in the cluster nodes, which allows synchronizing the time of the nodes using an NTP service. However, this service is not configured nor is it possible to configure it during the cluster deployment process, so we must configure Chrony once the cluster is deployed. For this we will follow the next procedure that allows configuring the NTP client in the master and worker nodes.
