Yes...it did. I didn’t pick it up until midway through the 2nd question
Yes @Nico Losschaert ..that is correct. To this point, yes, a yearly exam is required. And yes, we all for the most part think it’s too much. Rasmus is aware and is sharing concerns with the program lead (Simon Yarwood).
Yeah..some think even 2yr is too soon. I for one do not. Software changes so much in that timeframe, I see the need to at least renew every 2yrs. I don’t have the problem all you partner folks have. Yearly I can do, but I don’t like it, and think it’s too often to renew.Cheers bud.
haha..yes, it was. Some good points were made though.
Officially, the cert you achieve doesn’t expire. But, the validity of it as far as Veeam is concerned with course & exam requirements does obviously.
Generally speaking, with all the tech that’s out there, if we wanna stay relevant, I think we can all agree all the tech certs are a bear to keep up to speed on.
Last year, between Jan and May, I took 6 total certs - Veeam, AWS x 2, Azure x2, and VMware. That sucked. The only reward I get for mine is my own satisfaction that I passed 🤷♂️
Nice! Good luck @vNote42 !! I thought the course was just ‘ok’. But the VMCA course I thoroughly enjoyed.
Well, except for renewing VMCE, I’m done for the rest of yr. Good luck with all the next ones you have!
@Inder ...as a matter of fact, they have a free trial:https://www.kasten.io/try-kasten-k10
Yes sir...no problem. Cheers!
No worries. You can view the chat info at the same link shared in the original post if you want .
Thanks! Was tough, but worth the effort 😊
I’m personally not a huge fan of Acclaim either @regnor , but I understand its purpose, as has been pointed out - a central repository of sorts for all your certs, instead of having to go to each tech/vendor cert site individually to pull it up if requested by someone/employer (though I have yet in my 15+yr cert career to have to ‘show’ one). Cheers!
Thanks for starting the discussion up @SimonYarwood . Will try and get my 2021 done by EOY…… hopefully.
Well done @Kseniya @Rick Vanover . Great article highlights from @Nico Losschaert @vNote42 @Geoff Burke and others. Keep on building up the community!Cheers and have a great weekend!
@Nolzzz ...good luck on your exam. As the above has said...no real practice tests to take, other than what was offered. READ, then re-read the course Guide/Handbook, and you should be good to go. I did a post on my experience when I took it a few yrs ago. You can reference it here.Cheers!
@Inder - Probably never since I don’t manage it :)
It is pretty neat I have to say! And for those looking at a ‘quick’ walkthrough, David Hill wrote a nice blog about it here (for AWS; I’m sure you can find Azure as well).Cheers!
I wouldn’t think a personal acct would work...you can never use that for anything at Veeam (that I’m aware of).
If you hold VMCE v9(.5)...yes; otherwise, you would need to take the Course for VMCE2021. $200 for exam is cheaper than $1500-$4000 for Course 🤷♂️Cheers!
Well, you don’t *need* the new Course if you pass the VMCE2020. But, if you simply just wanted to take the Course (like, cuz your org pays for it)..than still all good :)
You’re a glutton for punishment! Or, just really love Rasmus or Joe or Bart or whoever will be teaching it ;) hahaha
Yes sir...you sure can!
You can go to the Cert page here. Once there’s a green checkmark next to the ‘Attend a training course’ step, you’re all set to then schedule your exam through PearsonVUE.
