At the very least, I would recommend you going over to the Forum to share your dilemma with the Product Mgmt team. They may have a better solution for you. Hi @miriam1989 -I haven’t used Exagrid, but haven’t heard much negative commentary on it. I think it’s a pretty solid product.Many storage arrays are really good, so more than likely you could get many different answers here from those who have a bias towards a certain vendor or another I, myself, use HPE Nimble (Alletra), and have for 7-9 years. I’ve used EMC arrays before that, and was not impressed with them (now DELL products basically). Nimble arrays are inuitive, have decent performance (we use hybrid, but these do come in all-flash), and they have the ability to replicate to partner arrays (3-2-1-1-0 rule). To get best performance, if it is something you’re really needing for certain applications (mainly databases and highly-transactional applications), most any array which provides an all-flash optioin is your best bet. Oh, I see what you're saying now....you're wanting to know if VBR 12.1 is compatible with SAP HANA 11.x?Here is a KB I found which may provide some benefit, but still not quite what you're asking for:https://www.veeam.com/kb4474Like you, I wasn't able to find a compatibility matrix for plugins. Only one I'm aware of is VBR with Agents. You may try to ask Product Managers on the Forums.
Hi @jiaming9966 -Though not an actual compatibility matrix, in the SAP HANA System Requirements, Veeam does share what SAP HANA version VBR is compatibile with:Plugin CompatibilityThen they go on to reference the KB I also shared.So, VBR 12.1 doesn't support SAP HANA 11.x.

Hello everyone! I've been studying at Veeam University, watching the "How to" videos. @Chris.Childerhose’s book has been very helpful too. I also did official training with @RBermudez and it was excellent. For those who passed the exam, what tips can you give us? Hi @BethSouza - Aside from Chris’s suggestion of going through the practice questions from Rasmus, I plan on doing the same thing for VMCE ‘experiences’ posts. I will create a post consolidating all posts I can find for those who took the exam and what their experience is like and what suggestions they have. Until I get that posted, you can review this VMCE Study Hall post where several community members share their ideas on how best to approach studying for the VMCE exam. All the best!

Really liking the ‘vote interest’, but for this to work, we need community members 1. who are actively studying (hopefully); and 2. for those who are actively studying, share what topic(s) they’d like to discuss in the session here in the comments section.@dloseke - I find it best to begin studying by taking the ‘mental approach’ of only thinking in small chunks. In other words, for ex. when starting reading through the User Guide, don’t look at the Guide holistically, but rather by “sections” - Planning and Prep, Security, Licensing, Deployment, etc. Before you know it, you’re 4-5 sections in and well on your way studying-wise. 😊 Hope that helps.

This is one of those writeups that while shows how to enable it (which is fairly easy) but doesn’t show you how to get any actionable file level detail once you have a detection. I have a detection that I think is a false positive, but I can find no way to have Veeam tell me what file is being flagged. As in the above examples there isn’t any detail beyond a server reference that has 1000’s of files on it. Bob - there is a Forum post regarding the Inline Entropy Scan engine, and it’s lack of visibility for detections. It appears there is an update on the way to help show either file and/or location (or both 🙏🏻 ). You can follow the post from the link below. To get started with some topics, two topics off the top of my head that I’d like some more in-depth help understanding are Instant Recovery and External Repositories (Data Domain, etc) and the de-dupe options and the use of them compared to a standard block repository. Hi @miriam1989 , the main thing to be aware of is storage. Each GFS restore point is a full, so just be aware of that. If you haven’t reviewed it yet, I recommend reading up on GFS Long-term Retention in the User Guide. They even have a couple examples of how GFS works. Hope that helps.
Also, the articles of mine you read provide a good foundation of how it works as well 😊 I no longer use Backup Copy GFS (though may re-create) just because I implement 3-2-1-1-0 by other means. But, GFS is a good strategy to have for long-term retention.
Hi @Henning -Thank you for your comment. I like some of your ideas for sure. But, what this ‘webinar/meetup’ I’m talking about above is about is somewhat of a “one-off” kind of thing. I’ll explain more in a minute…The webinar/meetup I believe you’re suggesting is more of what I call a study group, which I’m ALL FOR. Community members who are currently studying for the VMCE should start this on their own by creating a post here in the VMCE Study Hall and ask others who are studying for the VMCE if they want to be be part of a study group. Those interested can then just share a meeting link and begin the group whenever is convenient for the group members. And the frequency of the meetups similarly will be determined by the group. The format and items discussed will also be dependent on the group. Everyone is different in how they study, so groups will be different each time I think. I don’t mind being a part of anyone’s study group to begin with to provide study pointers and/or feedback
Hi @cdmoore1972 -This is a known issue & is not Veeam-related, but a Microsoft security measure.The error you’re receiving doesn’t occur with Domain accounts. It occurs only with local accounts; even with local admin accounts. The problem occurs due to remote UAC restrictions. To mitigate the issue, do the following: After you perform the above, go back to your Veeam server and test your credentials again, using the local account format: hostname\username. It should then be successful.Let me know.
A user with administrator access should work. This server has UAC enabled? If so, disabled to have a try. Disabled UAC on the Hyper-V host, rebooted the host, but still can only connect Veeam to the Hyper-V host with the hostname\administrators account. Chris @cdmoore1972 - did you try the process I shared?
