Feature Request: Disable Backup Jobs with Re-Enable Backup Jobs after some Time (for Update procedure...)

We have to disable Backup Jobs for Updates and reboots.

There is a risk of letting the jobs diabled after reboot!

It would be great to disable the Jobs in the GUI for some time only!

With API calls we have to disable MFA for this account what can bring a security risk!

Hi @ralf_walter - Welcome to the Community!

Generally, it’s best to make your feature requests for all Veeam products over on the Forums. Veeam Product Managers will see your request and give you insight as to the future of the request in an upcoming release as a feature enhancement.

You could also make an “idea” here on the Hub at the following page:

https://community.veeam.com/ideas

But always best to post your feature request at the Forums.

Best.

Hi @ralf_walter,

I get your point and in some situations it would make sense, but we have to pay attention to only have this option “manually set”. Sometimes jobs are permanently disabled for certain purposes, so they do not have to be re-enabled.

In my opinion, an update process contains around 17-18 steps in total (including preparations - which takes the largest amount of time), re-enabling the jobs is one of those runbook tasks that’s on the list and should be prioritized.

Best regards

Lukas

Hi @ralf_walter! Could Veeam ONE be a solution to this? There’s a check for disabled jobs which can re-enable jobs as a remediation action.

Good call there @regnor . That could certainly potentially be an option for you there @ralf_walter . Maybe give it a go and see?
