veeam software applinace iso file vm issue

Hi all,

i am facing problems running veeam software appliance vm on esxi .when i run vm mounting iso file ,its says uefi mode needed to run but uefi mode is already enabled,esxi version is 8.0 u3,

please help!

Hi ​@rajasohaib! Can you also check whether Secure Boot is enabled in the Boot Options of your VM? Besides, you could also just import the Virtual Appliance (OVA), which is pre-configured and should run out of the box.

Hi,


If the Veeam Software Appliance VM shows a UEFI error even though UEFI is enabled in ESXi 8.0 U3, check these:

  • The VM firmware is explicitly set to EFI under Boot Options.
  • The ISO is UEFI-compatible and properly mounted via Datastore ISO file.
  • Secure Boot is disabled if not required.

If the issue persists, consider testing the ISO on another VM or hypervisor to rule out corruption.

If you want just VBR then try the OVA file it works great and should boot without issues.
