Hello dear community. I hope you are all well and can support me if necessary.
I want to add my Proxmox HOST with the new version 12.2.0.334 and always get the following error message, which gives me no information at all about what is wrong.
Error message:
An unknown Proxmox VE Error has occured - screenshot attached
Do I need to configure anything else on my Proxmox host so that I have the option of adding the HOST to VBR?
I would be very grateful for your support!

Hi @DeeeNice -
I don’t recall seeing anyone post that error. I recommend following the User Guide to add a Proxmox VE server:
I have done it exactly as described, but I still get this error message. I was looking forward to setting everything up, but unfortunately I can't get any further. After entering the credentials, I get exactly this message...

Hello,
Do you use proxmox v8.2 as mentionned here on requirement ?

Have you taken a look at the logs?
@DeeeNice -
You could get in touch with Veeam Support to help you resolve your issue.

Not yet. I will do this evening and perhaps post the logs if don't see anything helpful. And when I see something helpful that brings success I will post it too :-)
Are you using root to add the Proxmox server? That seems to be required from what I have seen.
Yes, I used the root User.
Yes, I used the root User.
Ok. Sorry missed that in the screenshot. At this point support is probably the better option to have them check the logs, etc.

Yes, i am on version 8.2.4. I don't understand that. Is there Something I have to configure on the proxmox Host?
There's nothing special to configure and it should work out of the box. As the others said, if you don't see anything useful in the logs, then please contact our support.
i have the same problem, 8.2.4 and root password, i can’t find anything useful on the log, the only thing i can see is the ssh running
root: dmidecode -s system-uuid
root: hostname
after that -> An unknown Proxmox VE Error has occured
i’ll try to contact support
I had the same issues, had to remove MFA from the root account in Proxmox to enable me to progress further
@PunkPen thanks, it was that for me also …
@DeeeNice - looks like MFA plays a part so try what the others have done above.

At the moment I am on vacation, I will test it as soon as I am back from vacation! Thanks for all the comments and support! Great community!
@DeeeNice - no worries. Keep us posted.
Hi,
same problem and no MFA enabled with root account.
proxmox 8.2.4
@Sebastien Foucou -
If the above suggestions didn’t work, it may be best to reach out to Veeam Support.

@Chris.Childerhose
Thank you very much! I have now tested it. I actually had to remove the MFA completely. After that, the setup was no longer a problem.
Many thanks to everyone!

Not a problem glad you sorted it out and it is working now.
Hi,
please could you explain how you disable MFA ?
Thanks you
Hi @Sebastien Foucou
That should be possible from Proxmox here: Datacenter → Permissions → Two Factor
