Hi,

I’m testing out the free Veeam Backup Agent for Windows (or whatever it’s called).  I’m using the option to automatically start a backup when I plug in my USB Hard Drive.  The option seems to work fine, but I don’t get any notification when the job starts so I always have to expand my tray and then hover over the icon to make sure it says Processing...

Is there any way to get a standard Windows 11 pop up notification thing that would tell me when a job starts so I know it’s working?  I have the box checked for Enable control panel notifications, but I don’t know what that does because it doesn’t seem to do anything.

Thanks!

Hi @Kelemvor, just to make sure, is your item located in the extended panel?

If so, please move or let’s say drag and drop this to the regular panel.
Check if this helps, best Markus

You can put it in the taskbar notification section but the icon itself does not pop-up saying jobs are starting or done.  It does have animation though and shows status when you hover over it.

Hi @Kelemvor -

There’s no elaborate “pop-up” type notification I’m aware of, but I do get those who may desire this to get a more concrete reminder. At the very least you can go over to the Forums and submit a feature request for this, or ping the Product Managers to see if 1. this is in the works for a future release, or if not 2. what you can do to get better notified of your VAW job starting/processing.

Hope that helps.

Best.

I do now see that it animates while the backup is running so I guess that will work.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Not a problem.  This is the best way to monitor it as that is what I do on my laptop. 😁
