If RDP is disabled on the VBR server even for admins, what is the suggested way of managing that server? Physical console access inside the datacenter?

Hi @StoopidMonkey you can use the console componet https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/hyperv/install_console.html?ver=120 , it is very easy to install, no license required, you can install as many as you need.
But if you need to restore the configuration backup, you should connect directly on your VBR, phisically or via RDP.
