We are thrilled to announce the release of new versions of Veeam Backup for AWS (v9) and Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure (v8). These updates bring significant improvements and feature enhancements to our backup solutions, strengthening our Veeam Data Platform and offering even more powerful protection for cloud workloads.

What’s New in Veeam Backup for AWS (v9)?

Veeam Backup for AWS has undergone several upgrades to streamline and enhance your cloud backup experience:

  1. Amazon Redshift Serverless Protection:
We’ve added support for protecting Amazon Redshift Serverless, providing users with an easy and efficient way to back up and restore their data across serverless clusters in AWS.
  2. AWS Organizations Support:
Enterprise customers will benefit from the addition of AWS Organizations support, allowing centralized management of backup tasks for multiple AWS accounts. This significantly simplifies the configuration and protection of workloads across hundreds of accounts, perfect for large-scale environments.
  3. Updated User Interface:
We’ve revamped the user interface with a cleaner, more modern design, ensuring an improved user experience. This UI update also includes enhanced accessibility features and is currently undergoing ADA/WPAT certification by Level Access to meet the highest standards of accessibility.

  • Veeam Backup for AWS – 9.0.0.304
  • AWS Plug-In for Veeam Backup & Replication – 12.9.0.281

What’s New in Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure (v8)?

The latest version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure introduces even more powerful features to enhance your Azure environment:

  1. SLA-Based Backup Policies for VMs:
We’ve simplified the process of protecting virtual machines with the introduction of SLA-based backup policies. These new policies allow you to define backup schedules and retention periods based on service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring more efficient management of your backups. This feature has been very well-received by some of our largest customers, including Deloitte, who loved the demo!
  2. Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB Protection:
Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure now supports protecting Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB workloads, expanding the range of Azure services that can be protected by Veeam.
  3. Updated User Interface:
Like Veeam Backup for AWS, this version also boasts an updated user interface designed for a cleaner, more modern look. Improved accessibility features ensure an enhanced experience for all users. This UI is currently undergoing ADA/WPAT certification by Level Access as well.
