The email notifications are not working after upgrading from v11 to v12 (v12.1), including sending the test email.

There are warnings on the backup jobs: " Sending e-mail report Details: The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure. "

Every time you send an email report, Veeam Backup and Replication v12.1 validates the certificate received from your email server during email report configuration, indicating that the certificate has likely been modified.

It's easy to fix this issue, you need to open the global email notification settings and save the configuration again, accept the verify certificate prompted and save the settings.

Never ran in to this issue but thanks for posting the fix for it.  Will keep an eye out as we upgrade to 12.1.

@Chris.Childerhose It didn’t happen for every upgrading. One of the customers has this issue only. FYI.

Same problem with windows server 2019.  I have upgraded version 12 to 12.1 and e-mail notifications are not working.

Thank you @CarySun

@Moustafa_Hindawi , you are welcome!

This works only for a few days.. still searching for the definitive solution 😫

Have you contacted Support to get further assistance?

I had a similar issue. We stopped getting our e-mail notifications the last 2 days.

We use SMTP2GO to send mails and they got a new wildcard certificate (*.smtp2go.com) issued on the 20th of may 2024. In Veeam we define the hostname as mail.smtp2go.com and this gives a “certificate mismactch” issue when (re)-applying the e-mail settings in VBR.

I just presssed “Continue” on the prompt.

Attached screenshot for reference if anyone else using SMTP2Go stumbles upon this. This thread was search result number 2 when searching for: “Sending e-mail report Details: The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure."
