In case you haven’t heard from Veeam recently, Microsoft has updated their Terms of Service that, starting on March 1st, 2026, it will update its approach to application throttling enforcement for SharePoint Online and OneDrive. Teams may also be affected, as some of its data resides there. What does all this mean?

Why is this important? If you use Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, you may be affected. Veeam provided a KB you can read further to gather information on how or if this affects your organization.

Another item of note to the above, @Chris.Arceneaux , Senior Solutions Architect for Veeam, provided a nifty script you can run to see if you use multiple applications. You can find this at the following link:

For more reading on this issue, see the above Veeam KB, Microsoft Terms of Service link, and script. Reach out to your local Veeam SE if you have more questions.
