Hello,

I want to backup my Oracle RAC cluster of two VMs.

Is it possible with Veeam Backup 12?

Hi, absolutely 🙂 what version of the oracle database are you using? What OS does your RAC reside upon?

Hi,

version of the oracle database = Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 - 64bit Production

OS of RAC = Oracle Linux 6.7 en 64 bit

Hi,

So Oracle RAC won’t be supported as a VM or Agent Backup of the data itself though you could certainly still backup the OS via those methods. If you look into the Oracle RMAN plugin you can perform backup this way 🙂

Hi @benjaminliga -

I found a post here on the Community Hub where a user shared what he does, albeit a temporary offline solution:

He also posted on the Veeam Forums and there was a bit more discussion with Veeam on it:

I’ve not used it myself, but you could potentially use Veeam Oracle Plugin for RMAN. See the Veeam Best Practice Guide here and here for more info.

Hope that helps

Yes you can.
