Hi everyone

With Veeam, you can limit the capacity of object storage.

However, if a bucket has a limit on the maximum number of objects, the maximum number of objects might be reached before the storage capacity is full.

It would be beneficial to be able to choose whether to limit by capacity or by the maximum number of objects.

Best regards,

Markus

Hi Markus,

I don’t completely get your question but I assume that you would like to ask why there is no option to be able to limit either by capacity or by max number of objects.

I can imagine that that is because the number ob objects is basically a setting / limitation on the object storage bucket and Veeam is only a “consumer” of the bucket that does not have admin capabilities on that level.

Maybe you can create a request in the R&D forum to clearify. Perhabs there is a setting I don’t know about to modify the values.

Best regards
Lukas

Hi @Markus Rebmann

i’ve checked on my Wasabi account and I can’t find an object limit setting. On Veeam is possible to limit only by size as a “soft limit”.

As Lukas wrote, the use of a per-object limit can lead to incorrect bucket management. But also because not having a tree structure on the bucket could create a problem in indexing objects.

My 2 cents
