Here’s the 2nd question for the week. Let’s gooo!!! 😎 #YouGOTthis

The Security Team requires a quarterly spot-check of various VMs to ensure there is no malware on them. As such, you choose to run a Scan Backup operation on a VM housing an Oracle database on Linux. When you attempt to run the Scan, the option is greyed out. Why?

  1. You don't have Veeam Backup Operator permissions
  2. Oracle isn't a supported application to scan
  3. Scans can only be done in a Virtual Lab or during Secure Restore
  4. Scan Backup task can only be done on Windows VMs

It’s Friday, so it’s question answer reveal day!

It appears this question was a bit tricky for some. 😉 It’s good to see you all attempt to answer without first looking. It’s good practice!

The answer is 4., since Scans can only be done for Windows VMs currently. But, Linux is coming soon, per PMs. 1. isn’t correct because an Admin needs these permissions; 2. isn’t correct because Scanning isn’t an app-based task, but OS; 3. isn’t correct because since v12 you can now do Scans without performing a Restore or needing a Lab.

Good job folks!
