Ok, so I have a whole bunch of new VTT (Veeam Technical Trainer) questions for you all. Below is the 1st one from the bunch. Please remember to hide your comments/guesses! Good luck!

The administrator of a VMware vSphere environment needs to do an application-aware backup of a PostgreSQL database on a Linux VM.  In order to do this, they must:

  1. Tick “Enable application-aware processing” in the VM backup job.  No additional agents are necessary
  2. Install Veeam Agent for PostgreSQL on the VM and configure it to perform application-aware backup
  3. Tick “Enable application-aware processing” in the agent backup job.  No additional agents are necessary
  4. Install Veeam Agent for Linux on the VM and configure it to perform application-aware backup

Hi @erin.dubose.veeam , thank you for the guess! 😊

Could you do me a favor and edit your post and place your guess inside the ‘hide comment’ text box?  Let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you so much.

The distinguishing is to have the Enterprise edition for vm backup job to Enable PostgreSQL option in Application Aware part of the wizard.

With Veeam Agent installed on Linux Machine it can be done also in the community edition.

I tried on lab ...let me know if you agree.

This week’s VTT question answer is…

...indeed a. Veeam now natively can backup PSQL DBs in Backup Jobs. No Agent of any kind is required, so c. and d. are not correct. And there is no Veeam Agent for PSQL product. See link below:

Well done!
