The administrator of a VMware vSphere environment needs to do an application-aware backup of a PostgreSQL database on a Linux VM. In order to do this, they must:
- Tick “Enable application-aware processing” in the VM backup job. No additional agents are necessary
- Install Veeam Agent for PostgreSQL on the VM and configure it to perform application-aware backup
- Tick “Enable application-aware processing” in the agent backup job. No additional agents are necessary
- Install Veeam Agent for Linux on the VM and configure it to perform application-aware backup
