Structure & Strategy - Veeam ONE

Introducing Veeam ONE. A Comprehensive Management for Virtual and Data Protection Environments.

Veeam ONE™ is a robust monitoring, reporting, and capacity planning tool built for the Veeam community and virtualization administrators. It supports Veeam Backup & Replication™, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, VMware vSphere, VMware Cloud Director, and Microsoft Hyper-V. Often, the same person wears the hats of multiple admins. That’s why Veeam ONE supports virtual and physical Windows servers, VMware vCenters, and standalone ESXi hosts.

Veeam ONE monitors your solution’s expected SLAs, enables performance optimization, and provides visibility into all facets of the Veeam backup infrastructure. With Veeam ONE Reporter, you can document those expected SLAs along with historical reports for audits and compliance, helping you maintain SLAs and comply with regulations.

Veeam ONE Provides Administrators Valuable Benefits:

  • Lack of visibility and action across your backup environment can lead to data loss. Real-time monitoring of virtual infrastructure on every level means you can access performance data of each infrastructure element through charts, tables and lists.
  • You can create groups of VMs based on single and multiple parameters, or import a whole categorization model. Now you'll always know your data’s location and its protection status.

  • Shift from reactive to proactive with robust backup monitoring and analytics, enabling you to detect and identify anomalies that challenge your ability to recover. By systematizing and visualizing the collected data, you can review dashboards and generate reports containing default or custom sets of parameters and charts.

Veeam Intelligence

An AI chatbot to help with common issues and questions related to Veeam products, trained on Veeam technical documentation to provide accurate answers.

Veeam ONE Components

The architectural concepts comprising Veeam ONE are scalable to practically any sized environment. In addition, the simplicity and flexibility of the product’s architecture are essential factors that differentiate Veeam ONE from many generic monitoring products today.

Relying on client-server architecture to scale into practically any sized environment. Veeam ONE architecture is comprised of the following components:

Veeam ONE Agent

Veeam ONE agent is a component that enables communication with Veeam Backup & Replication servers, performs collection of logs, and sends remediation commands. Veeam ONE agent can work in the following modes:

  • Server:  In this mode, Veeam ONE agent is responsible for analyzing log data and signature updates. Veeam ONE agent server is included into Veeam ONE installation package and deployed on the machine running Veeam ONE server during product installation.

  • Client:  In this mode, Veeam ONE agent is responsible for collecting logs and executing remediation actions on Veeam Backup & Replication servers. By default, Veeam ONE agent client is deployed on Veeam Backup & Replication servers when you connect these servers to Veeam ONE.

Veeam ONE Client

The Veeam ONE Client is the user component that interacts with the Veeam ONE Server. It can be installed either locally or remotely. Communication with the server is provided by the Veeam ONE Client.

Veeam ONE Web Services

The Veeam ONE Web Services are the access and reporting interface with the Veeam ONE web server. Without these services, you are unable to view or create reports.

Veeam ONE Database

The Veeam ONE Database is used as a storage location for all the data that is used by Veeam ONE components. The database can be installed on a remote Microsoft SQL Server or on the same machine with other Veeam ONE components.

Veeam ONE Server

The Veeam ONE Server is the core of data collection and storage. It is responsible for all data collection from virtual environments, as well as interaction with Veeam Backup & Replication servers. All data is stored in the Veeam ONE database.

The Veeam ONE Server consists of the following components:

  • The Veeam ONE Monitoring Service, which performs data collection and monitoring of the performance and health of your virtual environment.

  • The Veeam ONE Reporting Service, which is used to create detailed reports.

  • The Veeam ONE Error Reporting Service, which collects and submits error reports in case of a failure.

  • Veeam ONE Web API, which is used by third-party applications and services to interact with Veeam ONE.
