Hey, everyone.Like Geoff, I also just noticed this and I also work with Chris and Geoff. I recently moved over to the service provider side having been a Veeam customer for many years. I am VMCE certified and beyond that, I am very excited about all the additional products that Veeam is working on such as the VBO and Kasten. It’s a good time to be working with Veeam.

XFS Issue - Anyone come across this with XFS?

For this case, it’s because the repository is looking for /backup but it’s not mounted. (However /backups is).

Object First: New company from the Veeam founders

From what I got at their booth at VeeamON, it is super easy to configure (even the non-technical demo guy got it one up and running in about 15 minutes). Each node is 128TB and it can scale to 4 nodes at this time. They demo guy said it was only available for VBK. I’m curious to see what’s holding them up from making it compatible with VBM365.

VMCE 2021 exam prepartion

Rasmus' resources (practice exams and videos) are great resources. If you use the Veeam official practice exam, be careful with the actual exam because they can use similar questions with a key difference. So read the questions carefully. Read all the Veeam documentation and know all the notes as sometimes the questions focus on the exceptions.

[Guide] Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 - Security Notifications for each Restore operation

Is it possible to enable auditing on all users and groups without needed to manually add the ID, displayName, and name for each user/group? Something like a wildcard json entry or something? Also is there a way to ensure new users/groups get automatically added to OrganizationAudit > AuditItems POST? Thank you!  Hey, Jorge! This was a great solution. I was wondering if the question above was answered? Is it possible to audit a whole organization? It would be another administration task if items (users and groups) had to be manually added.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v6a Released

Thanks for the post @MicoolPaul. It really is a relief that the Teams Export APIs will not be used by default in this version. It is coming but this gives a bit more time to get ready for the impending change.

Microsoft 365 backup repository blocksize recommendation

Hey, Veeam Community. I just found this thread and I wanted to ask if there’s any reason why it’s either 4K or 64K cluster size. Smaller cluster sizes help to minimize wasted space when storing smaller files. 8K cluster size would allow 32TB limit and 16K would allow 64TB. There would be use cases out there for tweaking the cluster size to balance maximum volume size with storage efficiency. What do you all think?

VBO repo migration

Hello @Cragdoo, To move your datas to another repo you could: 1. Disable all backup jobs related to the repository you want to move. 2. Stop all the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 services before moving any data. 3. Copy the backup repository data to the backup repository location on the new repository location (using robocopy for example). 4. Start the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 services. 5. Add the new repository with the moved data. 6. Open backup job settings and specify to use the new repository. Some more detailed informations could be find here:https://www.veeam.com/kb2649 There is also  a Powershell cmdlet “Move-VBOEntityData” that could be use to move data from one repo to another repo.https://www.veeam.com/kb3067    Just one note from a service provider perspective. I think there are too many “H” names in this thread. To clarify...I am both Hin and HangTen416. Thanks for the replies. I thought it was worth discussing the possible use of 8K and 16K (and 32K) as options for NTFS repositories.

Veeam - Physical or Virtual that is the question?

Check this out: and then check out their website https://objectfirst.com/ they’re doing demos every Friday 😊   It’s a really clean deployment I’ve got to say, there’s some advanced features IMO that are missing, but those are self-imposed restrictions for them to focus on getting v1 GA. They aren’t offering any hosted storage, so it’s purely on-premises object storage, and it shows, they’ve got speeds of up to 4GB/s! More than enough for an SMB.   This will be a great solution for VBM365 as well. I can’t wait for them to get Veeam certified for that.

VBR backup to Data Domain compression settings

KB1745 does mention specific settings for specific dedupe appliances (eg. for backup chains) but it does go generic for the compression settings. I forgot about the BP document (which I had read but not linked to my documentation). Winner is none/dedup-friendly compression. Thanks!

upgrade and install veeam Agent Windows_5.0.3.4708 fail

in addition I specify that my old version Veeam Agent continued to work but I simply tried an update yesterday ... On the OS side, I notice at de 16/10/2022 an update KB5018410 called cumulative update 21H2 like the other months ... and indeed it made me switch to 22H2 without further explanation, thank you Microsoft! It looks like you’ll have to find KB5015684 to see if you can uninstall it. It’s a basic question but do you have a backup from before the Agent upgrade/WIN10 upgrade you can revert to?
