VeeamON 2024 - Use Code "COMMUNITY10" for 10% Off!
@Chris.Childerhose and to ask you for favor: can you ask your Veeam people about this? Why not asking directly the person from where will buy the license? That contact of yours must either be a Veeam reseller or a Veeam sales representative. Both parties can get this information for you and create an offering for you to compare before buying additional licenses. Best,Fabian
Hi Surya .NET is not maintained by our product updates. We include the latest .NET on our ISO for new Veeam Backup & Replication deployments, but we don‘t update .NET when you do update to a new patch release. Please download the latest .NET 6.* directly from Microsoft website. I believe Windows updates should also be able to take care of .NET updates. Best,Fabian
Hi all Copy from Copy is back starting with version 12.1.1.56. Thank you @HannesK for proving the information in our RnD forum.RnD forum:https://forums.veeam.com/post513249.html#p513249Steps to doOn the backup server: add the the BackupCopyEnableBackupCopyAsSource=1 (DWORD 32bit) registry key to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication" Restart the VBR console. After that, you see backup copy jobs as source in the "From jobs..." sectionThings you need to knowa. the source backup copy job must be in "Per-Machine with Separate Metadata Files" mode, aka "true per-VM chains mode"b. legacy backup copy jobs must be upgraded before being available as source for "BCJ from BCJ"c. the copy chain can be extended by one level (same as in V11). One cannot do "BCJ from BCJ from BCJ"d. source repository (backup job or copy job) must be different than the target repository (to avoid a "circle of death")e. BCJ from BCJ has lower priority (task slots & locking) than the "prima
@Rick VanoverUbuntu has it‘s own note about the CVE.No released versions of Ubuntu are affected:https://ubuntu.com/security/CVE-2024-3094 Best,Fabian
Hi @jaceg23 Just wanted to let you know, your backup server runs a really old version (out of support already). Your build is affected by a known security vulnerability. It can be fixed by an update to the latest patch of V11a:https://www.veeam.com/kb4424 Or better, upgrade to V12.* which is the only supported version of our product at the moment:https://www.veeam.com/kb2680 Lifecycle Policy:https://www.veeam.com/product-lifecycle.html Best,Fabian
Hi @sknetsch We have done a lot of development work around the migration feature for our upcoming version of Vb365.In V8, the move command will allow a backup administrator to migrate backup data while the backup jobs are still allowed to run. No need to wait till the migration is over. Backups will be copied in the background and only when all backups are migrated, the jobs will be switched over to the new target. That should solve the main issue for „having no backups while moving data“. Veeam wants me to use object storage in the cloud, which is not an option for us. Cloud object storage is not a requirement. You will find many on-premise object solutions which will work with our products. There are solutions which come as hardware appliances or software based object storage (eg. minio). We list them in our forum and Veeam ready list:https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-for-microsoft-365-f47/unofficial-object-storage-compatibility-list-veeam-backup-for-office-365-t78250.htmlhttps://w
Thank you :)

To @Chris.Childerhose point → You can install B&R on a Windows PC (Win 10, 11, etc.). Do everything possible to get it off of the domain controller. And your production domain Best,Fabian
No settings to transfer as those are stored in the DB on the VBR server. You just need to install the console and connect to Veeam server. That would not solve the situation „get the backup server off the domain controller“.@mschreiberjrPlease see this user guide page. It explains how to migrate the backup server and it’s configuration to another machine.https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/vbr_config_migrate.html?ver=120 best,Fabian
@MicoolPaul is right on spot. Teams Chat backup through the protected API has to be enabled manually with the commands in the KB. The upcoming major version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 635 v8 will have it enabled by default. The previous EWS method through the hidden mailbox folder was disabled for all tenants by Microsoft a few weeks ago. Best,Fabian
