You don’t really need to. From the Veeam Server you can give delegated access to a user (either local or domain-based). Then, you can give the Veeam installer ISO to any end user to solely install the Veeam Console on a client PC. They can then use the Veeam Console to do whatever delegated Veeam tasks you gave them, remotely.Cheers!

We just use Windows Defender. No exclusions. Previous job we used Symantec then changed to Kaspersky..and used exclusions as issuggested by Veeam.

Agree @regnor. I’m pretty sure A/V would not prevent ransomware of any kind, except those which have been around a couple years. New?...definitely not. I’ve not heard of any case where it has, being they are generally newly written code aimed towards a specific vulenerability which A/V solutions tend to be unaware of.
Hey there @wolff.mateus ...appears nothing native to the VBR server, but does look like for VCSP and Azure/AWS products, MFA is available. I would make a comment in the Veeam Forums so a Product Manager can give more details on if this will be a capability in future releases. If not, maybe they will add one.Cheers!

From a VBR component standpoint, which is mostly what Simple vs Advanced is about, as mentioned above by @JMeixner and @Chris.Childerhose ...’it depends’. Which one you go with isn’t really about data size necessarily, but maybe partly that and partly what an org has to use, resource-wise for the backup environment. Some things to consider as was already mentioned above - How many VMs do you/ your customer have? Is it VMware or Hyper-V? What is the total VM data size (in TB?)? What is the allowed backup window? What are the RPOs? Etc.I’ll take a guess here without having more information about the environment. I’ll assume VMware and a relatively small org of maybe 100 VMs and maybe a total of 10TB. If this is the case, I would use a ‘hybrid’ approach of sorts. Have VBR on it’s own VM, and have Proxies on VMs as well. If you have available physical hardware, you could use them as combo boxes for both Proxy and Repository (as I do). For the fastest backup speeds, it’s best to implement D

As the vendor should. The requirement noted in the req’s is .NET 4.7.2 (see here). But, newer versions should be fine. That being said, if your VBR server is running in a VM, it’s easy to test/verify. I would take a snapshot of the VBR server VM, upgrade/install .NET 4.8, then create a test backup job to see if it works as normal. After the upgrade, I’d also see if browsing other items - Repl jobs, job history, storage integration, anything else you’ve configured initially, looks ok. If all seems fine, delete & commit the VBR server VM snapshot. If this process isn’t something you’re willing to do, contact Veeam Support to verify .NET is supported.Hope that helps.Cheers!
