Veeam Recovery Orchestrator 7.2 has been released and now includes support for Microsoft Hyper-V environments. With data portability being a key focus, it was important to provide support for additional sources and targets for recovery plans. This increases flexibility, avoids vendor lock-in, and ensures businesses not only can recover quickly, but migrate data to another location if needed.
Key functionality includes:
- Recovery locations using a Hyper-V 2022 cluster & CSV storage in System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) 2022
- Support for Microsoft Hyper-V Recovery Plans allowing you to orchestrate restores of Hyper-V VMs to their original or to a new Hyper-V Cluster location
- Plan creation using SCVMM tags for simplified management
- Support for Microsoft Hyper-V Recovery Plan Readiness Checks to verify RPOs are met and recovery location resources are available and ready to use
- Hyper-V Recovery Plan Definition and Plan execution reports
- Cross platform support for recovery of vSphere VMs to Microsoft Hyper-V and Azure Local allowing users to define pre-determined validation and leverage post-recovery validation to ensure a successful conversion process.
Key Considerations:
- System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) 2022 & CSV storage registered in SCVMM is supported
- Direct connections to Hyper-V hosts are not supported
This release delivers orchestration of restores for Microsoft Hyper-V, adding confidence in the face of migration, disaster or cyberthreat, keeping your business running.
