Hello everyone!

I’m looking for the first time how to backup a physical windows machine and I notice that is missing something here:

I didn't find where I can choose what proxy will be process this job.

I’m still reading help center session, but if anyone have some tip or advice for this kind of workload, please, just let me know.

Veeam Agents works directly. The Agent is the Proxy :)

Proxy is only needed for vms.

You must make sure, that the veeam agent has direct access to the backup repository.

If you choose a cifs backup repository from a vbr, veeam agent needs to connect to the gateway server.

Hi there!

When backing up using the agent, then out of the box the server being backed up acts as the proxy itself. If you use backup from storage snapshots, then the non-OS drives will be backed up by a proxy server.

Hi @wolff.mateus 🙂 processing is done on the workstation/server, no external proxy is used. You can use an external repository though

Exactly

Sorry….

15 minutes and I got 5 comments. You all are the best!
Nice to know that server is your own proxy. It makes sense.

I guess a lot of us have notifications turned on, haha
