If you missed on the last Veeam 100 show, '’Terraform Automation: Getting VB365 Up in No Time'’ where @Chris.Childerhose , @Rin  and myself are discussing on how to accelerate your Microsoft 365 backup deployments with the power of Terraform, you can still watch it in here:

In this session, we’ll walk through how to automate the setup of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 (VB365) using Terraform, reducing deployment time from weeks to just days. Whether you're new to infrastructure as code or looking to streamline your current process, this session will provide practical insights, lessons learned, and a clear path to reliable, repeatable deployments. Key Takeaways:

  • Deploy with Confidence: Learn how to configure and use Terraform to deploy VB365 quickly and reliably.
  • From Zero to Ready: Understand the prerequisites and initial setup steps to get your Terraform environment running smoothly.
  • Real-World Lessons: Discover tips and best practices from real deployments that cut setup time dramatically.

Thanks for posting the video Madi.  It was another great episode and always a pleasure to be part of.  Watch for my post with some recap and a generic version of the TF file I spoke about. 😎

Cool stuff, we are just starting our VDC journey, but this is pretty interesting. Thanks all!

Yeah this does not necessarily pertain to VDC but rather infrastructure where you can deploy things.  But it is something great to explore for sure.  My other post will be out tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest with the TF config file attached. 😎

No worries. I know it wasn’t about VDC. I just meant we have already started our backups for 365 😀.

I’ll watch the next one when it drops!

Informative session! Great to learn that you are also making the most of your Pluralsight subscription as a vExpert. It’s another fantastic resource for continuous learning for me.

Absolutely is for sure as I try to use it daily but at least once a week on Friday I have a block in my calendar for “training”.  😎

I’m just now circling back around to catch this show….cool stuff! Your Terraform solution kinda sounds like the PoCLI script I created for a Cluster VM environment I refresh each Summer. I haven’t looked into Terraform myself. Can I ask why you chose Terraform vs PoCLI? When you IP the Linux VMs, do you know if Netplan in Linux gets updated to reflect the static IP? I assumed you’re using Linux for your Proxies?...maybe not. If not, then disregard 😁

Regardless...really good info. Thank you for sharing!

We chose Terraform because we are using it for other things within our infrastructure already so I tacked on to it with Veeam.  Yes the NETPLAN does get updated within Linux as we are using Linux VMs for most components now until v13 hits when we can convert the VBR to Linux as well.

Ok great..thanks for confirming Chris 😊
