Hi Veeam Community,

We plan to onboard Veeam Data Cloud(VDC) for M365, i would like to confirm if VDC support multi-tenant, I couldn’t find more information on this, already check with local Veeam, but more toward sales, not much technical clarification on the concerning thing. appreciate if anybody can point me to resource that I could check.

Thank you.

Curious why you choose to use VDC instead of AWS, Wasabi, or another object storage service provider.

[full transparency, I work for Wasabi, so this is a selfish question...]

Veeam Data Cloud supports multi-tenant with the ability to switch between tenants from a single sign in provided you have access to multiple tenants. Veeam Data Cloud does not support cross-tenant restoration currently. So any data that is backed up within a tenant can only be restored back to that tenant or exported, no Tenant A to Tenant B restore paths.

We are just local installer, and our EU already liking previous Veeam Backup, and their intention is just wanted VDC.

What will be the approach for this, does Veeam provide any KB, once we onboard we suppose to sent invite to first tenant global admin, from same portal we can invite another tenant?

Are you looking to license split between your tenants within a single organisation? Or looking to manage multiple organisations as a service provider?

Our customer will manage themself; they have two M365 tenant, we just vendor to provide setup service, not looking for split, unless really require.

Each tenant will need to be individually onboarded. If you’re managing for the customer you can look at the VCSP options to manage multiple organisations/tenants, if you’re purely selling the server as a one off you’d need to sell the licenses to each tenant, whether that’s as a single order with the licenses then split, or in two separate orders, whichever suits the situation best.
