The Why Now Community Challenge: Veeam Data Platform 13.1. It’s time to vote!

Good day, Veeam Community! 😊

A few months ago, we kicked off The Why Now Community Challenge: Veeam Data Platform 13.1, inviting community members who will be joining us at the Veeam 100 Summit in Lisbon to share their own perspective on one simple question:

Why upgrade now?

And you definitely had something to say. 😊

Over the past few months, we’ve seen some great blogs come in, looking at Veeam Data Platform 13.1 from all sorts of angles: modern virtualization, the Veeam Software Appliance, security and immutability, storage, unstructured data, and of course plenty of real-world experiences along the way.

What I really enjoyed about this challenge is that everyone approached it differently. Different environments, different priorities, different experiences and different reasons for why 13.1 matters to them. And I think that was really the point of the challenge in the first place.

Some of you really got into it and wrote several blogs for the challenge ( THANK YOU! 👑) which was fantastic to see! To keep the final vote fair and give everyone the same chance, we selected one blog per participant for the poll below. That certainly doesn’t take away from all the other content you created, and we really appreciate the work that went into every single contribution. 💚

But the writing part is done.

Now it’s time for the community to decide!

Have a look through the blogs below, see what your fellow community members have been writing about and vote for your favorite.

Maybe it taught you something new. Maybe you liked the real-world perspective. Maybe it made you look at 13.1 a little differently. Or maybe it simply gave you the best answer to “Why upgrade now?”

The choice is yours. 😊

A few important details:

👉 Voting is open until Wednesday, October 28 at 11:00 AM CET.

👉 The three blogs with the most community votes will be our winners.

👉 The Top 3 will receive a special prize in Lisbon during the Veeam 100 Summit!

Before we get to the voting, I also want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part:

@atinivelli , @Luiz Eduardo Serrano , @MatzeB , @Ian Sanderson , @eblack , @c_glemot , @kciolek , @benharmer , @Massimiliano , @matheusgiovanini , @Iams3le , @Samuraj , @victorwu , @Jean.peres.bkp , @regnor , @MarvinMichalski , @Eric Machabert , @marco_s , @wesmrt , @Othon Oliveira , @Chris.McDonald , @mikkisse ,

We all know that writing a technical blog is not something you do in five minutes. There is testing, research, screenshots, writing, rewriting and, most importantly, taking something you’ve learned or experienced and sharing it so somebody else can benefit from it.

And some of you did that more than once for this challenge. ❤️

So thank you for putting the time into this and for sharing your knowledge, experience and honest perspective with the community.

And now comes the fun part. 😎

Grab a coffee , have a read and put your vote in!

And if your blog made it into the poll, share it! Send the poll to your friends, colleagues, your network... even your enemies 😄 and ask them to vote for you. No need to be shy about it!

You have until Wednesday, October 28 at 11:00 AM CET to get those votes in.

Good luck everyone! I’m really curious to see which three blogs make it to the top and who we’ll be celebrating together in Lisbon!

Let the voting begin!

Please help us determine the best by voting on your favorite one by Wednesday October 28th

Wow, that is one giant list of blogs! 😂

Best of luck to everyone who wrote a blog, as there was some really great content created for 13.1, which I am still reading. 😋

Lots of good information about the release of 13.1! I enjoyed reading the ones about migrating to new platforms.
