Hi @syedmobeenali -

Welcome to the Community. Yes, you can take an Incremental backup of a VM. In Veeam, it’s called Quick Backup. Read about it below:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/quick_backup.html?ver=120

And, to perform a Quick Backup:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/performing_quick_backup.html?ver=120

Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi @syedmobeenali -

I guess I need a bit more info for my above response to be accurate. Are you using the standalone Veeam Agent or the Agent with the Veeam Console for your physical machine? Which Agent? Linux or Windows?

For Incrementals using the standalone Windows Agent, see:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agentforwindows/userguide/backup_incremental.html?zoom_highlight=Incremental&ver=60

You simply just select the 'Backup Now' option (similar to the Quick Backup option in the VBR Console).

Thanks for your response, I need to make full backup along with incremental backup of my physical machines from centralize console of Veeam community edition. Please guide me,does it need to install veeam windows agent on my physical machines or there is any other way to do so.

Hi @syedmobeenali -

Yes...The VBR Console can install the Agent (are you using Windows?) from the Console. You need to follow the steps outlined in the Agent Management Guide since you plan to manage your physical device(s) from the Console. You need to 1st create what’s called a Protection Group (PG). 1st learn what they are (basically a policy-based container to discover computers then deploy the Agent to them) below:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/agents_discovery_and_deployment.html?ver=120
and
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/protection_groups.html?ver=120

and
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/protection_groups_types.html?ver=120
When you add computers to the PG, the Agent is deployed

Then create PGs based off your needs:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/protection_group_add.html?ver=120

After the PGs are created, you then create Backup Jobs:
(Learn about)
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/agents_job_mode.html?ver=120
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/agents_job.html?ver=120

(Create)
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/agent_job_create_win.html?ver=120

Hope that helps.
