E-mail setting for notification. Unable to connect to SMTP server


Hi to all,
I’m not be able to set the email notification of veeam.
I tried with gmail and other my domain.. but doesn’t work.

The error is: Unable to connect to SMTP server because of invalid credential or settings.

There is a soluton?
I use community edition and windows server standard 2022

I checked the parameters better and now it works

Hi Simone, this should work. Have you checked that the username and password are correct ? No firewall blocking traffic on this port ? You can test the creds for your smtp using: https://www.smtper.net/

Hi @simone79vi, I will suggest you take a look at this guide: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/general_email_notifications.html?ver=120

Ensure you add your user credentials under the “logon as”  under Advanced SMTP options. Ensure this information is correct!

Another solution could be using the free tier of a mail relay service (eg. mailjet.com) Done serveral implementions with this services and it worked flawless.
