Hello,

as in the title, given the software stopped being able to make backups after the April windows update that changed vss and a few other things , is there anyone knowing when the situation may get fixed ?

And will be fixed with an update to Agent , or need to wait for a new monthly update from microsoft ?

I’m a bit new but other vendors have been I think more vocal publishing info and/or in some cases updates to their software , while I think I didn’t see anything about Agent

Hello,

From what I’ve seen, this seems more related to the recent Microsoft updates affecting VSS/WMI behavior than a specific Veeam Agent bug.

I’d suggest checking vssadmin list writers, Event Viewer logs, and whether the issue started after a specific KB update.

It may also be worth opening a support case with Veeam Software to confirm if this is a known issue related to the latest Windows patches.

I think in this case you will need to wait on MS to address this since it does not seem to be a bug within the Veeam Agent itself.  You can check on the forums too and see if it was reported to get better feedback on a timeline or ETA - https://forums.veeam.com

Yes, I know is about VSS now hanging. But since I read that some other competitor got around this by some update on their side, was worth asking. I know that different software rely on different ways to obtain the same result… just was wondering if there was some notification because a very weird rumor I got is that there is not going to be any fix from microsoft until june

@mazzinia - your best bet is to contact Veeam Product Managers directly by inquiring to them on the Forums as Chris suggested. No doubt they’ve probably heard about this issue. Maybe they can provide more info on a potential patch/fix on the way.
