Hello, Veeam Community! 

I am pretty late to the party with the June newsletter, but I´ve been on a long PTO and didn´t want this content being forgotten as there are so many great articles I wanted to share them with you rather later than never! 🤓

The June Vanguard Newsletter brings together a broad set of community-created content focused on Veeam v13 readiness, cyber resilience, immutable storage, AI-driven operations, service provider enablement, and practical recovery workflows. Across blogs and videos, Vanguards emphasize hands-on guidance: how to deploy and validate new capabilities, harden environments, troubleshoot upgrade issues, and modernize data protection strategies across virtual, cloud, Kubernetes, Microsoft 365, and service provider scenarios.

A major theme of June´s edition was secure, immutable backup storage, especially around Object First / Ootbi integrations with Veeam. Several posts walk through deploying Object First appliances, creating S3 keys and buckets, enabling immutability, and adding the storage as a Veeam Backup & Replication repository. The overall message is that immutable object storage is becoming a practical cornerstone of ransomware resilience and fast recovery strategies.

Another strong focus is Veeam v13 operational readiness. The newsletter includes guidance on what to check after upgrading, such as validating services, repositories, jobs, restore workflows, alerts, and reporting. It also includes day-one hardening recommendations around limiting administrative access, using role separation, reviewing authentication and accounts, and ensuring auditing and alerting are in place.

The newsletter also highlights new and expanded platform capabilities, including Universal CDP for protecting critical workloads beyond traditional VMware-only scenarios, Veeam Kasten for Kubernetes v9.0, Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 backup and restore workflows, and service-provider-focused topics such as Veeam Software Appliance remote management, Cloud Connect upgrades, and VSA auto-updates.

On the strategic side, Vanguards covered the expanding intersection of AI, private cloud, and data protection. Content on the deeper HPE and Veeam partnership discusses AI-ready private cloud architectures, governance, resilience, HPE storage integrations, and Veeam’s role in trusted AI data protection. Another article explores the Veeam Intelligence MCP Server, showing how AI clients can interact with Veeam environments through natural-language interfaces and read-only operational context.

The June edition also includes troubleshooting and community-focused pieces, such as resolving VIHR upgrade errors, addressing a Veeam tape library ownership error, reflecting on three years of the Veeam Community Hackathon, and discussing shared responsibility and Cyber Essentials in the context of real-world data protection.

Overall, this newsletter reflects a community deeply focused on making Veeam environments more secure, automated, recoverable, and future-ready.
