The environment described in this architecture consists of a single primary datacenter hosting 10,000 virtual machines and 100 physical servers. Each VM and physical server averages 200 GB of used storage. All backups will use the Veeam Software Appliance and target a local HPE Data Protector Accelerator connected to an HPE Alletra MP X10000 object storage platform, with a secondary copy sent to a Veeam Data Cloud Vault repository. Backup proxies are deployed on physical servers, and the NBD transport mode is used for backups.
