The topic: understanding why a backup is slow.
My starting point is simple. We often look for the answer in the wrong place.
A Veeam job consists of a chain of four links:
→ The source
→ The proxy
→ The network
→ The target
Only the slowest one matters. Once identified, we finally know where to take action.
I shared the method I use in the field to achieve this.
It’s a topic that doesn’t get much discussion, yet optimizing backup time changes everything: infrastructure costs, RPO, RTO.
