In the Windows events log under Applications and Service Logs, Microsoft, WMI-Activity, in the Operational log there are failed events about every one minute as follows:

Id = {F9EA8DFE-07D2-4A3C-92AF-37DF0122432E}; ClientMachine = VEEAMSERVER; User = VEAMSERVER\USER; ClientProcessId = 9144; Component = Unknown; Operation = Start IWbemServices::ExecQuery - root\VeeamBS : select * from BackupServer; ResultCode = 0x80041032; PossibleCause = Unknown

The process id 9144 is associated with VeeamDCS.exe

Any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to fix this?

VeeamDCS.exe is a data collector that is part of Veeam ONE.  So if you have the agent installed on your VBR server then when the collection task runs on VONE it will kick off this process to gather information.

Need more info here @KnightArms -

Is this on your Veeam server or a component server? What version of Veeam are you running? Do all your Veeam jobs run ok?

Keep in mind, though you can certainly ask questions on “Veeam things” here in the Community Hub, we are not Support. So my ultimate recommendation for that Windows event is to contact them.

That said, Veeam does have a Windows Event Reference Guide you can at least start from before contacting Support if you wish. See below:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/events/overview.html?ver=120

Best.

Seconding what Chris said. It’s Veeam ONE. On your Veeam ONE server, is the server in question added with the correct credentials and in the correct format, or is it showing errors connecting there as well?

This is all on the server running Veeam, which is ver 12.3.1.1139 and all jobs are running OK.  I’m not the one who set this up, so going through system to see what might need to cleaned up.

Chris & Tom Thank you, I will check the Veeam ONE settings and see if any are incorrect.

Any critical issues would certainly have me reaching out to support directly, but for this I figured I would check with the forum first to see if others have seen this.
