Yesterday afternoon I held an in-person VUGKC event here in Kansas City. The venue we had it at was Boulevard Brewery. The local Veeam SE (Brett Rauber) and I thought this would be a great place to have our event as this space was used in years past for VMware User Groups. Back then, those were very well-attended. We couldn’t have asked for a better day to have the VUG → bright, sunny skies and a Fall-like feel of 70F. Since the space we rented also had a balcony with a view, it was a top-notch day.
Our VUG sponsor for this event was Object First and I must say, they did us up right - with the venue, swag, and our speaker Brice Smith… who talked about how to “Combat AI-Powered Ransomware with Object First”. Very well done session!
After Brice, I then discussed VDP13 on Linux (VSA) and What You Need to Know. I talked about the main features with this release, and also some limitations & considerations to think about before migrating to v13. Additionally, I shared some recently released features in the latest 13.1 release. It was not only my recommendation, but Brett’s as well to either continue using Windows and just upgrade migrate your Windows VBR over to v13, or if you are hard-pressed about going with the VSA...just implement a greenfield environment.
We ended the day with an AMA/Q&A and prize giveaway of an amazing Artemis Lego set. All in all it was a very good event. Below are some photos of the event.
