New install using Veeam Infrastructure Appliance Version: 13.1.1.18

So, let’s be a bit more specific on what you’re attempting to install → are you attempting to install the Veeam Infrastructure Appliance (VIA), to create a Repository or Proxy or other component? Or, are you attempting to install the Veeam B&R Software Appliance (VSA) via ISO?

Make sure you meet the System Requirements for either VSA or VIA deployment. Check those below:

Thanks for the quick answer.  I simply downloaded the install package VeeamInfrastructureAppliance_13.1.1.18_20260811.iso

put it on a USB drive with Rufus and started the installation.  I’ve got plenty of hardware to handle the install.  I was told all I needed was this install file to get it set up.  It started fine and looked fine up to the point of trying to create that one area.

Ok, so the VIA. Make sure to go through the Sys Req’s. Basically, you need a minimum of TWO - 120GB disks (can be bigger), hardware RAID (no software), and you have enough RAM/CPU.

Yeah, I have 8 - 10TB drives but did not configure hardware raid as I thought the software was handling it.  RAID 6 was what I was told.  128Gb of RAM and 2 Xeon processors.

I’ll have to find the RAID setup for this machine.  It’s been awhile… 😕

So come to find out, this Dell has a HBA330 controller which is only a pass-thru for software raid, which I was told would happen with the Linux installation.  😒

Unless you can get a good h/w RAID controller (not sure if your system supports one), your only other option to use the VIA ISO is to create a VM and install it in that. System Requirement docs are vital to look through before tackling installs, especially with Veeam’s v13.x release.

Have a support ticket in but also ordered a RAID controller for this server.  Should be here tomorrow.  However, it finds all my drives and has created partitions on each.  Really odd.

Hmm...curious on what Support says.

Support had me download the previous version ISO and it worked perfectly!  Go figure…

I am an official VEEAMER as of yesterday.  It was a long road getting all in place and working but I now have a full set of backups and the M365 tenant is running.
