New install using Veeam Infrastructure Appliance Version: 13.1.1.18

Hey, Folks!  Just got my trial license and downloaded the Linux kernel for 

Veeam Infrastructure Appliance

Version: 13.1.1.18

It finds all of my hard drives and starts the installation process.  After creating a few file structures, it stops and gives me:

Dasbus.error.DBusError:Process reported exit cod 5: device-mapper:reload ioctl on (253:0) failure.

   Failed to activate new LV datavol/veeamrepo.

Thoughts on what might be happening here?  This was a Dell Windows 2025 server with 8 10TB HD’s and 128Gb of RAM. 2 Xeon processors.  Booting and choosing to wipe drives.

      So, let’s be a bit more specific on what you’re attempting to install → are you attempting to install the Veeam Infrastructure Appliance (VIA), to create a Repository or Proxy or other component? Or, are you attempting to install the Veeam B&R Software Appliance (VSA) via ISO?

      Make sure you meet the System Requirements for either VSA or VIA deployment. Check those below:

      Thanks for the quick answer.  I simply downloaded the install package VeeamInfrastructureAppliance_13.1.1.18_20260811.iso

      put it on a USB drive with Rufus and started the installation.  I’ve got plenty of hardware to handle the install.  I was told all I needed was this install file to get it set up.  It started fine and looked fine up to the point of trying to create that one area.

      Ok, so the VIA. Make sure to go through the Sys Req’s. Basically, you need a minimum of TWO - 120GB disks (can be bigger), hardware RAID (no software), and you have enough RAM/CPU.

      Yeah, I have 8 - 10TB drives but did not configure hardware raid as I thought the software was handling it.  RAID 6 was what I was told.  128Gb of RAM and 2 Xeon processors.

      I’ll have to find the RAID setup for this machine.  It’s been awhile… 😕

      So come to find out, this Dell has a HBA330 controller which is only a pass-thru for software raid, which I was told would happen with the Linux installation.  😒
