Hi, hope all is well!

I am testing Veeam Backup & Replication and would like to run a simple test where I backup a folder from the desktop on my C: drive to an external SSD.

Could you please explain to me how I can perform this operation using the app?

Apologies but I cannot find an easy way to do it in the various backup modules.

Thank you,

Mike

Are you using the Windows Agent for the backup is the first question?  If so please see here - How Backup Works - Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows Guide

There is a section for setting up a job.

Here is the direct link for creating backups - Creating Backup Jobs - Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows Guide

Yep...use the Veeam Agent for Windows solution and you should be good, as Chris shared all the links you need. Let us know if you have further questions.

Assuming you’re not looking after a large number of servers, Veeam Agent for Windows is the correct way to go as the others have said.

If you want/need to use Veeam Backup & Recovery, there is an option in the tool-bar called Backup Job. Click that and select Windows Computer. That will allow you to create an Agent backup but manage it from the Veeam console instead.

Both Veeam Agent and Veeam Backup & Recovery (console) can be used within the 10? server limit. The console is nicer, but has a bigger footprint and may be a lot more than you really need.

Rob.
