Hey, I am a new VRO user, and I have just setup my vro server and I am ready to test orchestration plans. I'm running into an issue, and I was hoping that the forum could assist.

I have a Prod site VBR server.with a DR site with simple VBR for replication purpose.

In same network 3rd site (new machine) with VRO server included embeded components , VBR, ONE,VRO I have connected both vcenters in the configuration. So if i connect only my DR site VBR and added both Vcenter into VRO inventry is it work.

Please let me know if you need any other information, I am happy to share with you.

Hi @sumit.saini
Welcome I am also quite new to the community and learning how it works. I see you have added this to the VMCE Study Hall which is used for the VMCE exam. I think you may get better help in other parts of the forum. I am not sure if you can move topics yourself. I will check with an admin if they can move it for you.

Hi @sumit.saini -

Welcome to the Veeam Community Hub!

I have a little knowledge about VRO, so will try to help some. Whatever I can’t answer...we should have a user or 2 who can chime in with better info. Keep in mind also...the VRO User Guide is your friend. I highly recommend reading through it as you go as it will answer most questions you have about implementation:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vro/userguide/overview.html?ver=13

But, about your question...from a general sense, what you need to add to VRO is dependent upon where you do your restores/recoveries. For example, if you want to do a Replication failover, whether CDP or regular Replication, you need to add the vCenter where you want recovery to occur, so your DR site vCenter. Why? Because before you can even create a Recovery Plan, you first need to create a Recovery Location...which involves selecting compute/storage components in vCenter. And, you can only select them if that vCenter is added to VRO. This information is covered in the VRO Guide.

Hope that helps you get started.

Let us know.

Best.

Dear @coolsport00 @Jonty @Chris.Childerhose

Regarding the question what I posted in Forum (Veeam VRO – Site added as Primary or Secondary for restore):

If you take the original VM from its original location for replication using the DR site VBR, VRO works perfectly. So, basically, there is no need to add the primary VBR to VRO.

Note: Need to be start replication from the DR site VBR and add the same DR site VBR to VRO with both Vmware Vcenter, this solution works well with failback, failover, commit failback, and test runs.

Thanks & Regards,
Sumit
